The Outer Cape
 Situated among ponds, bogs and forests unharmed by time, Eastham itself is best known for its beaches and conservation areas. Eastham is the gateway to the National Seashore Park - 40 miles of pristine beaches, marshes, ponds and uplands. It is a land that has changed little since Henry David Thoreau strode from Eastham to Provincetown and chronicled his journey in his masterpiece, Cape Cod. Other naturalist writers such as Henry Beston (The Outermost House), have also published their observations concerning Eastham and its idyllic, natural surroundings. These surroundings now include miles of walking and biking trails that wind through woods, fields, marshes and several designated historical sites. Lighthouses, cultural landscapes and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod's past and continuing way of life.
 But the wonders of Eastham are just the beginning of your Cape Cod experience. Just a short drive away you'll find quaint towns like Wellfleet, Orleans, Chatham, and Provincetown, each with its own unique charm, but all know for their festivals, shops, restaurants, and warm hospitality.
