Tour the Inn
The Inn At the Oaks is a large Victorian home, originally built for a sea captain in 1870 and converted to an Inn in the early 1900's. Today the Inn has all the old charm of a large Victorian home, with all the modern amenities you would expect in a quality bed and breakfast.
On the ground floor of the Inn, you'll find four public rooms. There are two light and airy parlors, the breakfast room and a dining area. The Garden Room is the only guest room on the first floor. There are six guest rooms on the second floor and three on the third floor.
The Inn has a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs in the front and back of the Inn, perfect for sitting with a glass of cold lemonade in the afternoon, or a hot cup of coffee in the morning. There are café tables and chairs right outside the breakfast room, with picnic tables. The two acre property is a rolling landscape with a half-basketball court, tether ball and horseshoe area, and of course lots of stately oak trees and other beautiful plantings.
Just a few steps from the Inn is the Carriage House, also dating back to the 1870's. From the outside it appears to be a smaller building, but once inside, you'll find three large suites, each with a separate entrance, as well a common kitchen. The Carriage House contains our dog friendly rooms, and it is where we usually recommend rooms for families and for longer stays.
